Had a hi-end tech perform a minor modification to the amps along the way- The tech upgraded the input coupling caps and switched the output terminal strips for Cardas binding posts. Switched to Merlin VSM loudspeakers for most of that stretch. Bass slam and monster dynamics like a big transistor amp yet still sweet and even more holographic. When an opportunity arose, My local ARC dealer arranged a trade for my pair of Classic 30s towards a pair of gently used Classic 150 monos. The The huge Dunlavy loudspeakers needed more grunt. I bought a second identical amp and passively bi-amped the Aries and then a few years later on, a pair of Dunlavy SC-4s. It was sweet sounding and (when the recording was good) darn near holographic. In the early 90's I owned an ARC LS-2B and balanced Classic 30 which powered a pair of Martin Logan Aries in a smallish room wonderfully.
